About Us

Investicore is a property investment and asset management firm managing a portfolio valued at over R2.5 billion in South Africa and $109 million in the United States. Across 75 property holding companies spanning industrial, commercial, and retail assets, more than 300 long-term investors have chosen to build wealth alongside us.

Every investment is held through a dedicated property company in which Investicore co-invests alongside its investors. We take a 40% stake; investors hold 60%. Property cashflow first settles the investor’s capital contribution. Only once investors are repaid and de-risked does Investicore participate in distributions. Our incentive is simple: get our investors their money back, then grow the asset together.

This structure has been tested since our portfolio’s inception in 2001.  We have operated through the 2008 financial crisis, COVID-19 lockdowns, and the sharpest interest rate cycle in a generation. Conservative gearing, hands-on tenant management, and disciplined acquisition criteria kept the portfolio intact through each of them. Many of our investors have been with us across multiple investment cycles, reinvesting as properties mature and new opportunities arise.

Investicore was built from zero by founder Dawie Swart, a hands-on entrepreneur whose instinct for opportunity and willingness to take the right risks have shaped the business from day one.  With his entrepreneurial energy and 25+ years experience in property, he created the original business model, deal methodology, and initial relationships that the firm stands on today. Dawie built a team. Many of the people who helped lay the early foundations are still part of the Investicore story more than a decade later, a testament to a leadership style that values loyalty, consistency, and backing good people over the long run.

Anton Steyl has been part of the Investicore ecosystem since 2018 – first as co-founder of Investicore Properties and The Building Wealth Partnership, and from 2022 as shareholder and CEO of the South African operations. A KPMG-trained CA(SA) with experience across South Africa and the US, Anton went on to serve as Financial Director of a chemical manufacturing business, adding operational depth to his financial foundation. He brings structured execution (and a healthy respect for spreadsheets) to a founder-led business. 

Megan Steyl CA(SA) joined as CFO in 2023. Trained at KPMG and then went on to lead learning for Deloitte’s audit practice. Megan is the golden thread connecting the team, the finances, and the banking relationships that underpin the portfolio. Both Anton and Megan are SAICA Top 35 Under 35 recognised chartered accountants.

We don’t manage other people’s money from a distance. We are invested alongside our investors, manage every property directly, and earn our return only when the investment performs. That alignment is the foundation everything else is built on, and it is how we intend to protect and grow wealth across generations.
