Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information we collect through investicore.com, why we collect it, who we share it with and what your rights are. We follow the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

In short

  • We collect only what you choose to send us, such as your name, email address, phone number and message, plus the basic technical information every website receives.
  • We use it to reply to you, to deal with your enquiry or application, and to keep the website secure.
  • We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not sell or rent your information.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time by emailing info@investicore.com.

Who we are

Investicore Asset Management (Pty) Ltd (“Investicore”, “we”, “us”) runs this website and is the responsible party for the personal information collected through it. Our head office is at Greenroots Office Park, 1159 John Vorster Road, Randpark Ridge, Randburg, 2169, South Africa. Our United States office, at 3216 South Boulevard, Suite 201, Charlotte, NC 28209, deals with enquiries about our US properties under this same policy.

This policy covers investicore.com and enquiries made through it. It does not cover the investor portal at investor.investicore.com, leases, or employment with Investicore, which have their own terms.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you send an enquiry by form, email or phone, we receive your name, email address, phone number, company, what your enquiry is about, your message and anything else you choose to include. If you ask for our monthly vacancy schedule, we keep your name, company, email address, phone number and the kind of space your clients look for. If you apply for a job, we also receive your CV and the details in it. Please do not send us sensitive information, such as health details or identity numbers, unless we ask for it.

Technical information. Like every website, ours receives standard technical details with each visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the page you asked for, the page that referred you and the time. Our hosting provider keeps these records for a short time to run the website and protect it against abuse. We do not use them to identify you or build a profile of you.

What we do not collect. We do not use analytics or advertising tools, tracking cookies or social media tracking pixels, and you cannot create an account on this website. Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA to block spam: when you use a form, reCAPTCHA collects information about your device and how you use the page and sends it to Google, under Google’s own privacy policy. The acquisitions page remembers whether you prefer square metres or square feet. That choice is saved in your own browser and is never sent to us.

Why we use it

  • To reply to you and deal with your enquiry, for example a leasing enquiry, a question about our services or a general question.
  • To consider a job application you send us.
  • To prepare and manage a lease if your enquiry leads to one.
  • To keep the website and our systems secure, for example by blocking spam and abuse.
  • To comply with the law and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We process your information because you asked us to (for example by sending an enquiry), because it is needed to take steps towards a lease or other agreement with you, because of our legitimate interest in running and protecting our business, or because the law requires it. We will not send you marketing unless you ask for it, and you can stop it at any time. If you sign up for the monthly vacancy schedule, every email has a link to unsubscribe.

Who we share it with

  • Our team, but only the people who need it to deal with your enquiry.
  • The property-owning company that owns the property you are asking about. Investicore manages each property through its own company.
  • Our service providers, who store or deliver information for us under written agreements that require them to keep it confidential and secure. They are our website hosting provider (currently Amazon Web Services), our email and document provider, Google Workspace (which also holds the vacancy schedule mailing list), and Google reCAPTCHA. Website enquiries are delivered by our own property management system.
  • Our professional advisers, such as lawyers and auditors, where needed.
  • Authorities, where the law requires it.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.

Information sent outside South Africa

Our website is hosted by Amazon Web Services in Ireland and served through its worldwide network, our email is provided by Google, and our US office may need your information to deal with a US enquiry. This means your information may be stored or processed outside South Africa. We only do this where the recipient is bound by law, binding rules or a written agreement that gives your information protection substantially similar to POPIA, as section 72 of POPIA requires.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purpose you gave it to us:

  • Enquiries: we usually keep these for no more than two years after our last contact, unless they lead to a lease or other agreement.
  • Unsuccessful job applications: we usually keep these for 12 months, unless you agree we may keep them longer.
  • Leases and agreements: we keep these for as long as the law requires.

When we no longer need the information, we delete or destroy it.

How we protect it

The website only uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to enquiries is limited to the staff who need them. Our enquiry forms send your details to us by email and do not keep a copy on the web server. If we believe your personal information has been accessed without authority, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to:

  • ask whether we hold personal information about you, and ask for a copy of it;
  • ask us to correct or delete information that is wrong, out of date, incomplete or that we should no longer have;
  • object to us using your information, and withdraw your consent where we rely on it;
  • refuse direct marketing; and
  • complain to the Information Regulator.

To make a request, email info@investicore.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. Confirming whether we hold your information is free; for copies of records, the process and any fees are set out in our PAIA manual.

If you are in the United States

We do not sell or share personal information, as those terms are used in US state privacy laws, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. You can ask us what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, in the same way as above.

Children

This website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their details, please let us know and we will delete them.

Our website links to other websites, such as Google Maps, LinkedIn, our investor portal and the websites of some of our properties. Those websites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
